All about Love
The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. We are told that people stay in love because of chemistry or because they remain intrigued with each other, because of many kindnesses, because of luck… But part of it has got to be forgiveness and gratefulness.
Love cannot survive if you just give it scraps of yourself, scraps of your time, and scraps of your thoughts. Just because you love someone doesn’t mean you have to be involved with them. Love is not a bandage to cover wounds. Happiness comes more from loving than being loved; and often when our affection seems wounded it is only our vanity bleeding. To love, and to be hurt often, and to love again – this is the brave and happy life. Love isn’t a decision. It’s a feeling. If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but much less magical. Perhaps the feelings that we experience when we are in love represent a normal state. ‘Being in love’ shows a person who ‘he should be’.
